There is a vast amount of mods for Cyrodiil, so did I really have to add to it? Probably not, but as is usually the case, you download a bunch of mods, you try them out, you find some of it conflicting and none being exactly like what you had in mind… And so you make your own. Not all of these mods are mine, but this is what I use and so the mods listed here work nicely together.

Sewers and Dungeons linked in every city is a patch to link Montybrad’s Dungeons of Tamriel with IcelandicPsychotic’s Sewers for every city. This patch also repositions sewer exits where necessary to avoid some conflicts and make them geographically plausible.

Cliffworms’ Oblivifall – Losing My Religion makes changes to the chapels and fits beautifully with Wolf Tamriel. But I thought it was a little too strict in allowing only one divine altar in each city, and so made a chapel update to restore all other altars in all chapels. I also synthesized voices for the entire mod.

Holiday Travel Flyers puts scrolls in inns all over Cyrodiil advertising travel to faraway lands. Inns Sleep Two improves sleeping arrangements for your companions making most inns offer two sleeping places rather than one.

Anvil

Anvil features quite prominently in Wolf Tamriel with several story lines leading to it. Consequently, a number of mods introduce changes to the city and its surroundings.

The city is mostly left vanilla. I looked at several overhauls and upgrades to it and didn’t like any of it. Too busy. Too cluttered. Too… everything. I have mods that make small additions to the city as described below, but other than that, it is left unchanged. Instead, I redesigned the docks and added many underground dungeons.

Anvil Docks Extended is my take on the Anvil Docks, staying strictly outside of the city bounds, but extending a bit out to sea. This mod also contains a few patches for other mods that put an extra ship or boat in the docks which is a common thing to do.

Rook has a shop outside the main city gates, also adding a path to the docks.

Inside the city the Dark Brotherhood Real Estate extendes the cemetery by the chapel with more tombstones and a separate crypt entrance. There is also potential for them to take over the Abandoned House, if and when the required events take place. Mixxa77’s Crowded Cities Redone adds one house in the corner.

Read about the Gweden Farm

Lena made changes to the Benirus Manor and the Gweden Farm once she took care of the issues within. These are as yet unpublished. The Benirus Manor will probably remain private as one of Lena’s houses, while the Gweden Farm falls under the Night Mother’s Caress series, but perhaps not in the way you think.

IcelandicPsychotic’s Alternative City Entrances has a passage from behind the Benirus Manor to the sea outside of Anvil. I moved this passage inside the Benirus basement, locked. Montybrad’s Dungeons of Tamriel adds a ship in the docks that takes the player to a separate pirate island world. There are also extensive sewers under the city with several exits in the docks and city proper. IcelandicPsychotic’s Sewers for every city adds some more sewers and Sewers and Dungeons linked in every city links them together, also slightly reposititioning the sewer exit in the docks so as not to conflict with Anvil Docks Extended.

Read about Lucien’s connection to Anvil

Lucien’s mother was a Priestess of Dibella and Lucien received some training at the chapel in his youth. His mother is now buried at the city cemetery, but he still has ties with Anvil and, surprisingly, the chapel, or rather Dibella herself. This becomes evident with Lucien’s personal quests, as yet unreleased.

Bravil

Bravil is Lena’s home town, even though she acquired other homes over the years, this is where she returns to find herself. The Strange Door in the Niben Bay has something to do with it, too. Lena made some changes to her house in Bravil, as you would expect, yet those will likely remain private. The city is otherwise mostly the same as it has always been, apart from the fishermen’s boats now sailing in, an extra bridge over the canal, and of course a port outside the city walls. And a few other things… But with all that, it still largely looks and feels like the old Bravil.

Bravil Port unifying patch draws on three mods for Bravil, giving the city a sizable port in the Niben Bay as well as allowing row boats into the canals.

The Dark Brotherhood Real Estate adds the Listener’s chamber with an entrance through one of the city wall towers. This isn’t the Listener’s private residence but rather his office, open to all members of the Black Hand. Events will take place here, as yet unpublished.

Imperial City

Imperial City bridges extended and Imperial shipyard on the City Isle are two mods for the outskirts of the Imperial City, keeping everything mostly vanilla, just adding Imperial style bridges on the other three sides of the isle. The shipyard is purely cosmetic, there are no quests and nothing happens there, at least not yet, but who knows what the future brings…

Hauk Serck-Hanssen is based in the Imperial City, adding battlemage quarters on the forecourt of the Arcane University. Lucien Lachance is rumoured to have a “bolthole”, or perhaps rather an underground apartment, somewhere under the city. There is a lot more to the underground than what appears at first, thanks to ICExpand – Imperial City and Waterfront expansions complemented by the Waterfront Passage – Control of Goods, a straightforward and well-guarded passage, not a skooma addict in sight. I felt there was enough of that already added by the other mods.

Bruma

This is the city where the Mages Guild used to specialise in Necromancy until Hanibal Traven banned it. But one Breton from the Imperial City does not make law in an almost Nord town of Bruma, so no one really paid attention to that. This story is yet to come as a mod, but for now I relocated to Bruma DavaScript’s The Black Mirror – A Necromancer Shop.

Jowan Angwin is based in Bruma and has a house near the North Gate. Geralt of Rivia starts here, staying at Olav’s Tap and Tack. Lucien Lachance is known to stop at the Jerall View Inn from time to time where he has a room of his own, with the Dark Brotherhood Real Estate.

Cheydinhal

The city of secrets, second only to Anvil, Cheydinhal is very special to Lena because of course this is where her Sanctuary is located. The Dark Brotherhood Real Estate makes changes to the Sanctuary, adding a crypt and another entrance and opening up previously sealed chambers. Fort Farragut also gets an upgrade, but the Abandoned House is left abandoned. That refurbishment will remain private to Lena.

Garrus Darelliun starts out as the second in command with the Cheydinhal City Guard. If your choices are right, he can become a friend and companion, once he’s promoted to Captain. He remains based in Cheydinhal barracks, now occupying the Captain’s room that comes with his rank.

Skingrad

Skingrad city and the surrounding area has a number of subtle changes to the interiors. Summitmist Manor is of course a part of the Dark Brotherhood Real Estate, Glarthir’s house becomes Lena’s home after Glarthir dies, the vampires of the Bloodcrust Cavern form a peaceful coven and keep the vampire hunters as cattle… Most of it is still unpublished, but there are plenty of reasons to make Skingrad important. Especially when Yennefer of Vengerberg becomes the Count’s new adviser.
